happy humpday

Well, the final results aren't in just yet... but they're almost there...

As someone who works with numbers and reporting at my job, I just have to comment on the reporting method for Kaufman County... I had trouble getting the pdf file to refresh and populate on my screen. Every time the system went to re-load, my screen went blank/white. Maybe it was caused from too many visitors and not enough capacity? I don't know, but it was frustrating.

It would be nice to have something better for the next race!

In the local race for state rep, Lance Gooden beat good 'ole Betty Brown. =) Lance is leading by 108 votes out of a total of over 12k votes reported. That's a 1% difference, which is soveryclose. It definitely means that every vote counted in this race!

Results for the State Representative race between Gooden and Brown came from the Secretary of State's Office website - and is a good example of a site that is designed well for reporting data. And apparently was built for a lot of visitors all at once =) This type of site's reporting would be perfect for Kaufman! Take note!

Well, I heard that there was a side bet. If Betty lost she had to change her name to Gonzales. ;-)
Do you think there's any truth to that?
