backyard update

every thursday during the summer, they have a free concert at the Rockwall harbor.  it's a great place to catch a beautiful sunset too!

in the backyard

sorry for the lapse in posting, but i've been busy working in the backyard =)  and trying to spend less time on the computer too...

i've got some 'before and after' photos of the sunflowers planted near the back fence and shed -- but still no flowers yet. i think they've started, but no yellow growth. but soon =)

i'm also posting a barrel full of petunias planted in an old jack daniel's whiskey half-barrel. the miracle grow potting soil seems to have worked really well on them...

finally, yesterday morning i found hundreds of little mushrooms growing in the backyard... after the sun came up, they all completely disappeared... and i've included a photo of one...

i'll try to be more timely with my posting going forward... =)  hope everyone had a great weekend!

back porch

today's project was to find some cheap Texas license plates at Canton to make a 'skirt' around the back porch to hide the ugliness underneath =)

the reflective material makes it seem like the porch is lit from below...

and the in the day it's a little much, but better than before.

 we'll have to do a Texas theme on the porch now.
