Today's photo is another one I captured in downtown Terrell; this one in front of the small florist on Catherine street. For a couple summers in college I worked at the K-mart plant/nursery dept in Greenville, Tx (long since gone =)) and could tell you the name of every flower - the names escape me now though. It's only been 20 years, I should remember!

yesterday was dollar day at lone star park in grand prairie - which meant one dollar admission, and also dollar hot dogs, soda, BEER!!!! and dollar programs. =) i LOVE dollar beer and took full advantage of the sale in support of the racetrack, even if it did mean standing in long lines! Unfortunately, I also didn't wear any sunscreen and today my face is a bright red! =) it's all good though, i was looking kind of pale before i went=)

1929 Ford

Ok.... one last photo from the car show, this one a 1929 Ford model T sedan... it feels like we've jumped directly from winter into summer here in Texas... it was already in the 90s today, but the breeze made it feel cooler.

one more photo from the car show this past weekend. Today's car is a dodge charger - this one was a member of the 'three-stooges' car club =) on a similar note, i've really liked the new dodge chargers since they've remodeled the shape similar to this classic body!

I ran down to the carnival at the Terrell Heritage Jubilee tonight and snapped a few pics - my first post is the ferris wheel! I always loved riding this as a child, but for some reason always had a strange fear of my carriage falling off the wheel =)

Rockwall TEA Party Pt 2

I received a couple comments to my post yesterday accusing me of mis-representing the number of people attending the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) party in Rockwall that occurred on tax day... I was mainly trying to show the people on the street with signs - but in fairness, here's the whole 'shebang'. The person commenting said that there was at least 2,000 attendees at the Rockwall event. Here's a zoomed out photo, what do you think? 2,000?

I drove by the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) party in Rockwall on my way home from work today. Here are a few of the protestors. I didn't know that the United Nations was after our grandchildren, so I'll have to brush up on that political topic.

I go from a beautiful red rose one day to a worn out old tire the next =) no rhyme or reason - but today's photo is a reminder that we have Earth Day coming up in a week - April 22nd. And it's always a good time to look at things in your life that you can Reduce, Reuse or Recycle!

And about today's photo - if anyone had told me that I was in the snaky area of the lake, I probably wouldn't have gone over there to take this shot!! =)

Ok, the rose photo the other day was taken in my yard... and after looking at this shot, my rose looks kind of pitiful =) today's rose I photographed in front of Taqueria Dos Aces mexican restaurant in downtown Terrell. They have some really pretty roses down there, in various colors... i always like the red ones best =)

today's photo is one from the archives - the neon iris theater sign in downtown terrell. the current owners replaced the sign last year, and restored it in its original colors from when the theater first opened.

Frosty in a box

Grandma got a new pc, so that means Frosty got a new box. He loves boxes - he attacked this one as soon as I brought it in. Later he played with the box the keyboard came in too =)

Today's photo I got on my road trip to Choctaw this past Saturday. My grandma wanted to drive by the old house she lived in, and this was along the way =) Today was a regular Monday in every sense of the word - please let Tuesday be better!

I found this caricature on the baseball sign (below) for the local team, which is located in a small community east of Terrell. It reminded me of a t-shirt I had as a kid for the cleveland indians, that had this same character on it =)
