it was a beautiful night for a walk thru downtown... only dangerous around the convenience stores where lots of people were buying tickets for the mega millions lottery - estimated jackpot at $640 million!

rock n roll

i signed up for the rock n roll 1/2 marathon months ago as a goal to work towards for 2012. i beat my time from san antonio, and quite proud of my new PR of 2:34:07! =)

rainy days

a photo from last week. we got some much needed rain, turning this little creek into a river =)

i was beat after running the half marathon this morning - and felt fine afterwards, but started getting a pain in my knee a little later... i'm sure it'll work itself out. i cut 7 minutes off my time for a new PR, finishing in 2:34:07!

laziness

i took a few days off for my birthday... apparently. it was really just me being lazy, but we'll say it was a birthday break.

today's photo is a year ago today... the beginning of the capital 10k in Austin. had to miss that race this year for the rock n roll dallas half marathon, going on tomorrow. i'm excited and half ready =) and a little nervous. i think i can beat my time from san antonio. fingers crossed.

frosty was acting like he had a flea or something tonight, so i tried to put the little dropper application between his shoulders.

the streets were filled with st paddy's day celebrations, as runners decked out in green mingled after the dash down greenville on saturday!

today's photo was taken exactly a year ago today.. 3.14.11.  It's my cubicle at work. I know the calendar says January, but I can trust the date on the photo. I never use that calendar and it's always behind =)

long forgotten...

one from the archives today... my 'daily tree' that never materialized much after february or march 2011=) amazing how quickly a year can pass... the next project will be to find a good vantage point to photograph the new bridge over 80 being constructed in downtown.

on a sunday evening... after running 9.3 miles yesterday, i deserve an adult beverage =)

run day

today was a long run in preparation for the rock n roll half marathon at the end of the march... the 'leaping leprechaun' 15k was held this morning in McKinney. I had a personal record, too! my previous best 15k time was 1:42 - and I shaved about 3+ minutes off that to finish in 1:38:50... pretty happy with that!

i was also happy that the rain held off until later in the day - the forecast had called for a cold, rainy morning for the race... so thank goodness for the weatherman being wrong again!  =)

and finally, here's to daylight savings time ending until november!~  =) i like having more daylight hours at the end of the day!

trinity river levee 5k and 10k

jim and i ran the trinity river levee 10k this morning - the grand opening of the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge. It's pretty impressive.

i talked to my grandma on my way home from work every day for about 10 years. it's quite an adjustment getting used to her being gone.
