Jamie Foxx
One more photo from this past Saturday =) today's photo shows Jamie Foxx as he addressed the crowd. In the background of this shot, the new street sign that 'renames' Bradshaw Street in honor of Jamie can be seen in the background - the street topper designates Bradshaw Street as 'Jamie Foxx Way' now. Jamie also played football for the Terrell Tigers during high school, as quarterback, and wore the number 12 - which is also visible.
The framed artwork to the left was another plaque in honor of Mr. Foxx that will be displayed in the performing arts center at the high school. It shows Jamie playing a long windy piano keyboard, reminiscent of his role in 'Ray'.
You can check out Jim's photos over at Terrell Daily Photo for some 'crisper' shots of the event. My point and shoot camera didn't perform that great from 200 feet away on zoom =)

Jamie Foxx Day - Sept 26, 2009
The excitement could be felt throughout Terrell this morning as Jamie Foxx rolled into town to accept the key to the city. Texas Governor Rick Perry was in attendance to recognize the great talent and accomplishments of Eric Marlon Bishop, aka Jamie Foxx.
Terrell Mayor Hal Richards proclaimed Saturday, September 26, 2009 as the official 'Jamie Foxx Day!'

local residents
The recent drop in temperatures around here brought some of the locals out into the city streets. In a few weeks, these little noisy creatures will cover the sidewalks in the evenings.
When I lived in Commerce in college, we used to have to walk across a 'carpet' of crickets to get into our building in the fall. It was impossible to walk into the building without hearing multiple 'crunches'. =)

Work Visitor
Today we had a visitor to our work that required us to dress up (it's just horrible to have to dress business casual every now and again! no jeans or tshirts!) Our visitor today was the local Representative to the US House, Sam Johnson, who represents the district where my work is located. This was as close as I got to him, peaking out at him through some mini-blinds =) Apparently the congressman held a local town hall meeting in Richardson last night. Forgive the picture quality, this is a phone photo!!
