little old antique store

When I see these old kind of buildings I'd like to know more about their history... be able to view some old photographs, etc. This one, a former grocery, now houses an antique store - and is located in downtown Quinlan... about 15 miles north of Terrell.

Jim and I went out driving on some backroads near Terrell today looking for cool barn photos... On one back road, after seeing several deer, a wild feral hog ran down the side of the road and then crossed in front of our car!

the tower located at the mesquite stadium on thursday night was quite impressive. i'm scared of heights, but would love to see the view from the top.

just doesn't have the same 'ring' to it as friday night football... and during the game i had to keep reminding myself that i had to work tomorrow =(

short weekend

seems like the weekend has ended as soon as it started. =(

my next 5k race is saturday morning in durant, ok. luckily, this one involves a choctaw hotel stay on the night before - instead of an early morning drive to the race!

i tied with my 2nd best time on the 5k today - 31:56, with no walking. i was happy with the time, and i had a good run with no aches or pains =)

Tyler Rose Results

Well, I shaved 15 seconds off my best time for a new personal record! I finished the Tyler Rose 5k, running the 3.1 miles in 31 minutes and 38 seconds - 10th in my age group!

Quite happy with those results, considering all the hills I had to run on this course. I suppose I should practice more on hills - but I like the relatively flat course we have to run on here in Terrell =)

gotta get to bed early tonight so i can run the tyler rose 5k in the morning! tyler... an hour away... 5k race begins at 8.45a... so we need to be up and on the road early in the morning!

reflections

a quick post for tonight... reflections of a boat on Lake Texoma... from the archives.

we're halfway thru the State Fair already - if you haven't gone, make plans soon!

i have 2 achy knees and a run scheduled for the next 2 weekends =) this Sunday, on 10-10-10, is the Tyler Rose 5k. They have a half and full marathon too, but I'll be doing the 5k!

the following weekend is the Heartland 5k on Saturday the 16th.

I still haven't had a chance to go thru the photos from the football game last night... i took a long nap after i got home from the 5k and wine tasting. and tasting. and tasting. =)

I matched my best time pretty much, which I'm happy with. I finished the 3.1 mile (5k) course in 31:56 according to the results. My best time is 31:53, so within 3 secs =)

I'll have the football photos edited and posted over on the facebook page sometime tomorrow.

friday night ... halftime entertainment

a quick post tonight. i need to get to bed so i can get up early for my 5k tomorrow! tomorrow is the vineyard 5k in grapevine, and we have to hit the road before 7a to make it in time.
