here we find ourselves again at the end of the weekend... my least favorite time of the week.

i made some progress painting this weekend and will have some updated pictures soon!

New Office

Today's photo is a new addition to our downtown. Well, the building has been there for years =) but the occupant and bright red sign are new. We have individual branch service offices around town, so I'm not sure exactly what the difference between them and this one... i think all paths end in Iraq or Afghanistan right now...

eavesdropping

as i was up on the ladder painting tonight, i felt some eyes staring at me... when i stopped to take a drink and enjoy a cold beverage, i found the culprit spying on me!

as an aside - thoughts and prayers to the families of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, who've both passed on to a better place today... it's sad to see pieces of my childhood pass on already, but a necessary part of life as well...

a different view

Tomorrow will be my official one year anniversary since I stopped smoking. It definitely wasn't easy (at first), but I feel so much more healthy now!!

Terrell Heritage Museum

The sign normally in front of the library that says 'Terrell Heritage Museum' is missing! It appears an orange cone has been set up in its place... maybe a new sign is being made? I posted a photo that included the old sign back at the end of May.

i got my eyes on you

today i have a photo of the 2 outdoor cats that live around my house... under it, in the garage, on top of the garage, on my vehicles... they're always laying around taking a nap somewhere or else they're eating =). sometimes they bring me dead birds as a present. they have fought off raccoons, dogs, and other stray cats to protect their territory... the one in front is named Ezmerelda and the younger one behind her is just kitty =)

i wonder if snail mail will ever become extinct... most of the mail I receive now is either credit card offers or sale papers and advertisements... nearly all of my bills come online now, but there are a few that still send paper bills too.

that white paint behind this mailbox is the new color i'm painting my house - bright white! that was the original color when i moved in, and the white certainly makes it look fresh and new! i'll have more photos of the house later - i'm working slow, but steady =)

Rockwall Costco

I stopped by the new Costco in Rockwall late last week and got a new membership... I hope I use this more than the Sam's Warehouse memberships I've had in the past...

Grooming Day

Friday was grooming day for the dogs at Amber's Pet Parlor, in Edgewood, Texas. The dogs enjoy the short trek out to Edgewood in the car, and Amber always does a great job grooming and cleaning them up! they also know how pretty they look when we leave the shop =)

front porch ferns

i went down to JT Nursery on highway 80 a couple weeks ago and bought some big ferns for my front porch... i love sitting on the front porch in the evenings and listening to them swirl around in the breeze... i can usually keep them alive for a couple months before killing them =)

Mimosa Flowers

One day they'll invent scratch and sniff devices to attach to your pc - until then, you'll have to trust me that the sweet smell of this mimosa tree was wafting through the summer air!
