happy july 4th!!
hope everyone has a safe holiday and stays in out of the heat!! i braved the heat to get some painting done this weekend. some of my neighbors were kind enough to bring me a plate of grilled swordfish, rice, squash casserole and a mango salsa - it was excellent!! i hope they're not trying to get me to paint their house, cause i'm afraid of heights and they have a 2 story house! =)

July Theme Day - 'Empty'
As a follow up to yesterday's post - 'some things never change, but other things do'... my photo yesterday was our current post office located at 200 N Frances - and today, for theme day, I have our new, unfinished, EMPTY post office currently under construction =) The old post office is convenient for me in the downtown area since I live within walking distance. The new one is being built on the corner of SH 34 south and Baker Streets which will be a car ride to get to for me from now on.... luckily i pay most of my bills online =)

so long, sunday
here we find ourselves again at the end of the weekend... my least favorite time of the week.

New Office
Today's photo is a new addition to our downtown. Well, the building has been there for years =) but the occupant and bright red sign are new. We have individual branch service offices around town, so I'm not sure exactly what the difference between them and this one... i think all paths end in Iraq or Afghanistan right now...

eavesdropping
as i was up on the ladder painting tonight, i felt some eyes staring at me... when i stopped to take a drink and enjoy a cold beverage, i found the culprit spying on me!
as an aside - thoughts and prayers to the families of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, who've both passed on to a better place today... it's sad to see pieces of my childhood pass on already, but a necessary part of life as well...

a different view
Tomorrow will be my official one year anniversary since I stopped smoking. It definitely wasn't easy (at first), but I feel so much more healthy now!!
