it's been a long week at work. my workgroup was reduced by 1. always seems to happen at the end of a quarter, so i guess i'm safe for 3 more months...

spent the day with a few friends at lake texoma today.

so glad i left my phone, wallet and keys on shore =) i was dry when i got on... and after turning over and falling in the water, i don't think my phone would've survived.

On Saturday afternoon Bradley Justin Gaudet, killed in Afghanistan on June 5, 2011, passed through Terrell on the way to his hometown of Gladewater.

i walked a little in my 5k today, so no new personal records... i finished in 34:07 and worked up a good sweat. so it's all good =)

one more pic from the dr pepper bottling plant. this guy's job was to sit and look at bottles passing along the line all day - pulling out any dirty, cloudy, cracked or chipped bottles.

so glad tomorrow is friday. and happy for this week to come to an end.

saturday will be the frontier days 5k out in eustace, tx. i hope to win a horseshoe trophy this year... and get to keep it.

i've lost count of how many Dublin Dr Peppers that I've drank today... but i brought home 2 small bottle 6-packs to enjoy this week. I can definitely tell the difference with these made with Imperial sugar vs the high fructose corn syrup ones...

i walked a little on my 10k today. but not as much as my last 10k in Ennis =) today I finished in 1:14:38. Not great (last in my age group =)) but i had a good workout and worked up a sweat, so it's all good.

Woldert Peanut Mill

Today's photo is the Woldert Peanut Mill building that I ran past in my 10k today. After the race I went back to snap a few photos. It was built in 1928 and was a major peanut processor for Dublin through the years. Looks abandoned for quite some time now.

off to the races

tomorrow morning is the 10-2-4k race in Dublin, Texas - renamed Dr Pepper, Texas for the 120th birthday of the Dublin Dr Pepper Bottling Company. Tomorrow they have all you can drink Dr Pepper and free tours of the bottling company museum!

i signed up for the 10k. it'll be my 5th 10k race this year... and hopefully I'll beat the time from my last one =)

took a drive around east texas this morning before an early morning run across the rockwall bridge spanning lake ray hubbard. i really liked the scenery running across the lake - a boat pulling a skier came by at one point.

is it officially summer now? time for vacation? =)
