new year's eve 2010

i hope everyone had a great holiday season, and here's looking forward to a happy and prosperous new year in 2011!

i'll be drinking a little bit tonight to ring in the new year, but i have to get up early in the morning to run a 5k in Rockwall. So... i'll try to take tonight a little easy =)

today is my submission to Tricia's weekly Barn Charm photo posting over at Bluff Area Daily.

tonight was my first night back running in a week - and it was drizzling rain, and a little cold. which made for a nice run =) i really have to get ready for my 10k in january... my first one since june of 2010...

eye got my eye on you

a busy week, with out-of-town visitors has resulted in me having a very clean house, a blog missing several days worth of posts, and me missing about a week of running =)

it was a great holiday and visit that seems to have flown by, like everything else. now it's already time to go back to work and try to get some runs in this week before the Superman 5k in Rockwall on New Year's day!

Today's photo was taken this weekend at the Dallas World Aquarium - a great place to visit when company comes to town, or really anytime. It was really crowded for a holiday weekend =)

end of 2010

it's fun looking back on the year that was 2010 and recalling all the fond memories... and there were a lot this year =) it's still hard for me to believe that i finished my first 5k just in march!

Christmastime

a happy time for all. Frosty's keen eye and ear for the sound of cardboard allows him to intercept all packages entering the house.

No box gets by without his inspection. And maybe you don't want to play Frosty's game, but you will anyway. There is no perch high enough to escape his curiousity... he will attack the box until you give it to him. He owns all boxes. Surrender.

last sunday before christmas

i enjoyed a great dinner party on friday night, good food and drinks... then an early morning 5k in Canton, which wasn't my best time after those Friday night drinks.

and next weekend is Christmas, which means lots of last minute stuff to do this week! bring it on monday, let's get started!!

oh, Christmas tree!

I ran in the Santa CLAW 5k in Canton today, and finally won my first medal in my age group! Too bad it was the 4th place 'E' for effort award, and there were only 4 people in my age group to begin with! =)

I finished today in 33:40, which isn't anywhere near my best time. But it was cold, and I'm sure the donut holes and chocolate milk before the race didn't help any either!

Jim and I ran out to Forney on Saturday night to donate some toys during the Forney Light Show toy drive. Check out Terrell Daily Photo for another view of the lights!

christmas parade 2010

this morning was the annual Terrell Christmas parade, and aside from a slightly brisk wind - the weather was great! Definitely a cold front moving in though =)

i'll have more photos posted later on facebook... i think i need a nap to recover from being at work til 3am today!

to tree or not to tree

it's been 2 years since I tried to put up a tree with my glass ornaments. back in 2008, the last attempt, Frosty was just 7 months old... and the shiny flashy tree proved too much for his interest, and his weight. he bent every bottom branch on the tree trying to get to the ornaments =)

closing in on 2010

so hard to believe we're already a week into December. The Terrell Christmas parade is next weekend... this year flew by, and now it's already time to start looking back to pick out some favorite pics of the year...

i've been pretty successful at a couple resolutions from 2010, and now it's time to start thinking of new ones for 2011.

Flag Football

the flag football game today ended with the TISD coaching staff besting the fire, police and city staff 24 to 6.

quite a few toys were collected for the Kiwanis toy drive, but even with the beautiful weather the attendance was surprisingly low. toy donations continue to be accepted at local TISD campuses as well as American National Bank.

kiwanis toy drive - Ben Gill Park Saturday at 10am!

the annual Kiwanis Toy Drive is scheduled for 10am this Saturday at Memorial Stadium. This year the Terrell Police Service and Fire Departments will team up to take on the city employees. A cold front will move thru to bring the normal frigid weather, so bundle up and c'mon down and bring a toy and support a good cause!
