Terrell Lodge No 5

This building is located on North Catherine Street, right off the downtown 'strip'. At one time it was apparently some type of lodge, as the name and coat of arms/crest painted on the front is still visible. There is currently a florist, 'Creative Florists', and another small retail store in the storefront, with loft apartments located upstairs.

Lovely brick work isn't it? Or is that painted on?

Nice post today!

It is amazing how well paint sticks to bricks when you don't really care about it sticking and how it flakes off when you want it to stick. Nice Photography.

I really love old buildings like this. They arouse my curiosity. I wonder what kind of lodge it was, who belonged, why it fell out of use, etc. I have been doing a bit of digging into McKinney history and really find it to be facinating.

I agree with abe and Dan. . .wonder about the paint and what was in the buildings before.

LOL @ Abe's comment...so true!

I love this building, and it is interesting to delve into the local history, isn't it? If only these buildings could talk...
