Housing Transformation

It seems so strange to look back at how much my house has evolved over the last 12 years since I moved in... and who said evolution was just a theory!!

I have to admit that I questioned my decision to replace the old windows; even though they had some cracks in the glass, gaps and cracks around the edging, not to mention most of them being painted shut - I still loved the way the wavy leaded glass looked in the old windows - and they were the original after all. And I really wanted to maintain as much of the older home 'charm' as possible.

But the new windows were double paned, energy efficient and immediately dropped the electric bill by about 25% after being installed - and saving money always holds sway with me! And I have to admit, seeing the new windows against the backdrop of some bright white paint makes me think maybe I made the right decision after all!

IT LOOKS EXCELLENT, Brian! I love it! I know what you mean about the wavy glass, but it looks sooooo good - The paint job is FAN-FRIGGIN-TASTIC!

It looks brilliant. All that painting was worth it :)

Great job Brian. What a transformation. I am a real fan of maintaining the character of older homes, but once in a while it makes sense to update certain items. Good choice on the windows & paint.

I think the house looks great! There's nothing like a fresh coat of paint. And the new windows look wonderful - saving money is just a bonus!
