Poplar Bluff Train Depot

Today's photo is the old train depot building located at the bottom of the stairs from yesterday's photo. Half of the building appears to be boarded up, and is somewhat in disrepair. The very far end of the building is still being used as the local Amtrak station and is in a little better shape.

I love old train stations for some reason.

That's sad this building is in the course of disuses and the stairs in disrepair. They are both really nice. Hope the city won't get rid of them.

Oh, how sad. Hope that they fix it up to be something useful! Maybe a restaurant? Just think... A wedding reception with the bridal party on those wonderful stairs and then into the RR station for the meal!!!

By the way, yesterday's photo on Guelph was an older one as our weather was just too horrible to go out and try to get another one!

It looks so sad not being used. The structure is in decent shape - such a waste. Is there not as much call for the rail? You said that Amtrak does use a portion - so it is simply less traffic?

Train stations are always interesting buildings. It's a shame that its not being full used.

I've enjoyed seeing your Poplar Bluff photos (I love those steps!), and the Clinton Library one, too...nice capture while driving! :)
