texas bluebonnets

the state flower is in full bloom along highways in northeast Texas! i captured this one by Lake Lavon, north of Rockwall.

why does the weekend go by twice as fast as workdays?

my ladybug friend here is actually not a bug at all; it's a beetle! =)

next weekend is the heritage jubilee! which means the next race will be the Fountain 5k, held next Saturday morning in Ben Gill Park!

i love ladybugs! back in san diego you could buy a bag of ladybugs at home depot. they came in bags of like 500 and you let them loose around your rose bushes so they will eat the avids. i used to buy the ladybugs for the kids and they had so much fun letting them loose. i haven't seen them sold since we've moved away.
cool shot, very pretty flowers!!
