poplar bluff, mo



the town where i was born has been in the news a lot lately due to excessive rain and flooding.

I took the first photo above last summer from the bank of the Black River, right where it runs through downtown Poplar Bluff. A normal level...

The photo below I stole from my sister's site, Bluff Area Daily, showing the entrance to the same bridge across the river - and you can see the water all the way up to the bottom of the bridge!

Pretty amazing ... and dangerous. Thatsa lotta watta~! =)

PS go to KFVS12 for a video of the emergency spillway from yesterday... one day after I took those pics (on my post today) I sent you... Redmond Creek is COMPLETELY UNDER WATER now... T Hwy is blocked
