eh. monday

2 months of 2011 passed and only 10 to go.

1/6 of the year is over. 59 of 365 days gone.

unfortunately, only 1 workday down this week. 4 more til the next weekend.

cowtown 5k and 10k cont.

one more shot from the race yesterday... i really enjoyed the course and setting on this 10k - but looking forward to the capital 10k in Austin on march 27th =)

i also have the mardi gras 5k this coming saturday, march 5 and the dash down greenville 5k the following saturday, march 12! =)

cowtown 5k and 10k

A few photos taken at the Cowtown 5k and 10k in Ft Worth this morning. I came close to my personal record, but couldn't quite beat it. I finished in 1:09:49 today, with my best being 1:09:37.

Hopefully I can make or beat that record at the Austin American Statesman's Capital 10k run in Austin next month!

friday = happy!!

10k on saturday morning means less beer friday night.

what's old is new

i've always appreciated when old homes or buildings are restored instead of being torn down and replaced. today's photo is a mid-renovation pic of the old post office - a follow up to yesterday's post.

i'll post another photo in the next week with a completed view. this week they've been working on installing new sprinklers and landscaping =)

hump-day mash-up

today's photo is the old post office building located on Frances Street in downtown Terrell - this was taken the week before the PO moved over to the new facility on highway 34.

I'll follow up tomorrow with an updated photo of the building following some major renovations by American National Bank.

Oh... don't look too close at the photo, it was a quick 'job' =) my photo had a white, washed out sky - and thought a blue sky might brighten it up. Of course, the first blue sky I found was from the No 1 BFTS Fly In from last fall =) so here's a fly in post office mash-up!

breakfast for dinner

i'm a big fan of breakfast food, and always enjoy a new recipe. The Tribune is on the lookout for some recipes that will be shared in the Sunday Lifestyles section - so click over and submit your favorite on facebook or you can click here to email your recipe to them!

my monday breakfast/dinner casserole:

Cheesy Sausage and egg casserole

6 Eggs, beaten

1 small pkg sausage, browned and drained

1 pkg crescent rolls

2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or velveeta)

1 onion, chopped (optional)

Directions: Brown sausage and onion and drain. Spray an 8'' x 11" pan with cooking spray or Pam. Unfold and lay crescent rolls in bottom of dish. Spread cooked sausage evenly over crescent rolls. Mix eggs together and pour into dish over sausage. Spread cheese over the top of the casserole and bake for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees, or until golden brown on top.

i actually used a white mexican shredded cheese on mine, and it turned out great!

lazy sunday

it's beautiful outside this weekend. no sense in staying indoors!
