barbeque

the barbeque contest part of the jubilee is serious business, and people come early and stay all weekend preparing their food submission for the contest - chicken, ribs, brisket... Texas favorites!

I was out taking photos at the carnival Thursday evening, and on my way back to the car this nice couple (the guy) yelled at me to take their picture. They were part of the camping / barbeque groups inhabiting the park this weekend.. i didn't catch a name - and posing for a camera carries its dangers - so now you're on the internet! =)

as a kid i always wanted a caramel or candy apple at the carnival! but, after i got it, i didn't care for it much =) i'd eat the caramel off the outside and throw away the apple

the freedom skater

after loading my car up with groceries at walmart on sunday, i noticed this motor home in the parking lot. i had my point and shoot and snapped a photo so i could see what it was about.

the freedom skater is a motivational speaker travelling across America speaking to students about self empowerment and entrepreneurship. This is a link to his blog post about Terrell and east Texas.
