one day i'm going to do a triathlon... i can do one out of the 3 events, so i should be good to go, right? lol

i think i'd collapse after the swimming portion. and again after the bicycling.

car show

i really liked the paint job on this car at the jubilee car show... depending on what direction you looked at it, it changed colors from purple to green-blue  =)

apparently this type of moth really likes the sap in this tree trunk =)

monday

finally.. FINALLY... the tree people showed up. Monday's only a little past Saturday =)

i've decided i couldn't be a tree trimmer... he's chainsawing from about 25 feet in the air!

enjoyed a nice evening of games at a friend's house tonight... tomorrow, trees are in trouble around my place... the tree guys are cutting, grinding, removing and trimming trees and stumps!

rides

as a kid, i liked to ride all the rides at the carnival. any carnival. no matter if it's mobile and set up in a grocery store parking lot. nowadays, not so much. i'd rather watch =)

jubilee

today's photo is one from the archives - exactly a year ago. it's heritage jubilee weekend - a big weekend filled with events and people from all over  =) a 5k, pig races, barbeque contests and tasting, a dog show, the boy scout fish fry, carnival rides, funnel cakes, fried pies - a fun weekend ahead!

always want to look our best when the camera comes in close =) and the texas bluebonnet looks just as good closeup as it does driving past patches of it on the side of the road.

an update on the detached garage in the backyard... it's gone =)

the trees will be next... and at some point, a new fence will be needed.

the season came early, but tis the season nonetheless...  need to do a long run this weekend, at least 8 miles...

today's bluebonnets photo was taken across the street from home depot, in terrell... and apparently i missed the bluebonnet festival in wills point today! maybe next year! =)

a year ago

so many things change in a year... some good, some bad.  i've had my share of bad this year.

today's photo is a year ago - 4-11-11... when a tornado or 'straight line wind' hit the airport north of town.

i got signed up for my first mud race too -- kind of like a warrior dash -- 5k thru an obstacle course =)  it's in june in terrell!

as a kid, Easter was all about boiled eggs and chocolate!

looks like i missed a day... again... i'll blame it on the plumber. i spent most of friday waiting for the plumber to fix a leak in the back yard, but all is well now!
