At first, I thought there were individual names engraved on the bricks. There is a sidewalk at Xavier University in Cincinnati (husband and son are alumni) where you can "buy" a brick and have someone's name engraved on it. I heard that Alive Hospice here has the same thing.
At any rate, I do like the colors and patterns in this photo.
